Jake Drossner of Council Rock North Star Pitcher for ASBA Showcase Team |
All Star Baseball Academy is pleased to feature standout pitcher Jake Drossner as our Player of the Week.
Jake is a lefthanded pitcher from Council Rock North High School who recently committed to The University of Maryland. Jake pitched for Coach Mike Manning's ASBA Showcase team this summer and fall. The summer and fall schedule took Jake to all of the top showcase events like the Mid-Atlantic Top 100 Showcase, Select Fest, the WWBA 17U National Championships and the WWBA World Champiuonships in Jupiter, FL.
In Jupiter, Jake pitched a great game vs. the Indiana Lids Bulls, throwing 4 shutout innings while striking out 7 hitters. Over the past year, Jake was also recruited by Coastal Carolina, UConn, Rutgers, Penn State and UNC Chapel Hill.

"We are really excited for Jake and his family," said Coach Mike Manning of ASBA. "The University of Maryland is in the beginning stages of resurrecting a strong program under Head Coach Eric Bakich. Having the opportunity to be part of the rebuilding process is a great situation for Jake. He should get the chance to pitch right out of the gate, which will enhance his development."
"I have known Coach Bakich since his playing days at East Carolina," added Manning. "With some new talented players like Jake, Coach Bakich should give the Terps a chance to improve and compete for a winning record in the ACC next year."
